My birthday beauty wish list

Thursday, 29 October 2015

Today is exactly one week until my birthday. So I thought I'll share my organic beauty wish list with you.

On turning 31 this year. When I was younger, I used to hate it when my parents said they didn't want anything for their birthday. How could someone not want everything. I could go into any shop and pick out at least 10 things I wanted. As I've grown older I'm finding myself becoming more like my parents. When friends and family asks me what I want for my birthday, I can't really think of anything I want. The only thing I always want is organic beauty and makeup products. So here is my wish list for my 31st birthday.

1) Kjaer Weis - the essential trio
To be honest if, I get anything from Kjaer Weis I'll be happy. I'm yet to try her stylish and amazing (so I heard) products.

2) ZAO organic makeup - lipstick
You might have noticed me ramble on about ZAO lipsticks on various social media. I love them so much I want more. I also would like to try more of their products. So I've added to my wish list the compact foundation as well.

3) Olympus pen - camera
It might not pass as a beauty product. But I will be able to take beautiful pictures of all my makeup.

4) Kerstin Tillberg - mug
Ok, another non beauty related product. But it's so pretty and how cool would I look if I was sipping my tea from this in my videos. It's a perfect beauty prop for my blog.

5) Suti - face cream
This is my favourite face cream of all times and I would love a new bottle as I've recently finished one.

6) Couleur Caramel - blusher
I keep hearing about this brand and would love to try some of their products. I need a new blusher and how cute is this packaging?

7) Maria Ã…kerberg - eyeshadows
There's no secret I love Maria Ã…kerberg's products. And I want some new eye shadows. To be honest I want them all.

That's my wish list.

Do you have your birthday soon? Or have you started your wish list for Christmas yet? What do you wish for?

Review | Face cream vs face oils

Sunday, 27 September 2015

I've recently decided to try face oils. After a long time worrying about if it would make my skin greasy and give me spots. I'm sure I'm not the only one. In the end I just decided to go for it. I used Suti Rejuvenate face oil. This contains with Rosehip seed, Evening primrose, Argan oil and Frankincense.

Recently the hype of oils has got bigger and bigger. Such as argan, avocado, coconut and almond oils. Natural oils has been part of women's beauty regime for thousands of years.

Skin cells are held together by plenty of oils. As we age, we produce less oils and we loose our healthy glow and lines starts to appear. We need to add oils back to our skin to keep it radiant and healthy by hydrate the skin.
When oils are applied they absorb directly to the top layer of the epidermis and hydrates the skin right away.

What is the difference between cream and oils?
Creams are mostly waxes and water with a few oils. Waxes leaves a layer on the skin, which helps to hold moisture in. The problem with that a build up of waxes may lead to clogged pores and stops the oils from penetrating. So in the long run it has the opposite effect and dries your skin out. At first it helps to keep in moisture but as the pores clogs up your skin doesn't get the hydration it needs and your skin gets dry.

Oils are lipophilic which means they love fat. So they can pass through our skin and fat layer easier than creams. Hydrating the skin thus, so more efficient.

My experience
My skin is normal to dry. I started to notice a difference almost immediately. Skin felt smooth and soft.

I was worried that my skin would feel greasy. But within minutes the oil is penetrated through the skin and only left feeling smooth and hydrated. I haven't got any spots. I did feel applying the oil both morning and evening was a bit too much sometimes. I then changed to apply the face oil only in the evening before bed. Letting the oil sink in to my skin without spoiling the skin with makeup. Leaving the skin still feeling hydrated and good in the morning.

Oils are not necessarily more natural and organic than creams, it completely depends on the type of oils and the cream. Both products usually have different abilities and objectives. Oils will give us more elasticity and also some vitamins.  Whereas creams nourish the skin and minimise the pores creating a protective layer between the face the world.

What do you prefer? Oil or cream?

*disclaimer: I received the Suti face oil for free to review and been asked by Suti to write a post on face oil vs face cream. I did not get paid to do this and the view is my own.

Review | Suti - Fabulous foot balm

Friday, 24 July 2015

A perfect balm to look after your tired feet. My love for Suti continues. Suzannah, one of the ladies who started Suti, gave me their foot balm. The Suti Fabulous foot balm was actually her first ever product she made.
Being a hardworking hairdresser and a keen runner I could not wait to try this. My feet needs as much love as they can get.
Suti is a British organic skincare collection based on:
  • energy healing,
  • working with reiki,
  • meditation,
  • the moon and flower essences to find the perfect balance in their beauty products.
On the Suti Fabulous foot balm packaging I'm reading
"Energetic intention: Endurance - to give strength and connection to Mother Earth. Putting the past behind you and finding your inner strength, to start afresh and walk forward."
This is a great foot balm and my feet are loving it. My feet and legs definitely feeling refreshed after using the balm.
The fabulous foot balm has some ingredients.
- Rosemary, has pain relieving properties so perfect for my tired and sore feet. Make them new
- Peppermint, is uplifting and making my feet feel like new again.
- Olive oil, rehydrates the skin leaving it feeling soft.
Some other great ingredients are pumpkin seed, avocado, eucalyptus, lemon and carrot. They all help to cool, refresh and stimulate my feet.
First time I tried the Fabulous foot balm was after I had done a 10k run in the morning. It felt great to massage this balm in to my feet and calfs. It was exactly what I needed. The feeling after was amazing. It was like having new feet again. They feel clean, fresh and relaxed.
It is now part of my evening routine. I don't want to spoil the feeling after by running around. I just want to continue to relax. After washing my feet. I apply the foot balm and spending 5-10 minutes to massage my tired feet and legs. It is so refreshing. I did not realise how exhausted my feet are after a long day. But working the balm in to my feet massaging them I can feel the knots and the tension. It's such a relief when I notice them loosen up.  For each day I'm using the balm it's getting better. I feel reenergised and I think the peppermint helps to freshen your feet and stops any odour.
I only use a small amount and as it's melting I work it over my feet up the legs towards my knees. As it melts I can feel it going in to the skin soothing my sore muscles and relaxes them. The balm leaves my skin smooth, not as rough feet but like nice soft skin. I feel relaxed and ready for bed, but with new energy in my legs ready for the next day. A perfect combination.
I stand on my feet most of the day and I as most of us neglect our feet so much. I think we take our feet and legs for granted. This balm helps me to bring the importance of them back. To get rooted again.
I also think it is a perfect product for summer. Our feet are out on display so let's make them look and feel their best. My feet feels much smoother and not as dry so happy to show them off in my sandals.
The Fabulous foot balm is £19 and it will last a long time, as you don't need a lot.
I don't think my feet ever felt better, so thank you Suti.

Review | Suti - Cleansing balm

Friday, 22 May 2015

I received this cleansing balm from Suti as a thank you for my last review. I was really excited as it's been on my wish list for a while and I've heard wonderful things about it.

Again Suti continues to impress me with their products and maybe it's because they using reiki and meditation in the process of making their products, that they stand out from the crowd. It has a calming effect to both my skin and body.

I only need to apply the smallest amount on my skin, which makes it last a long time. The cleanser comes with a cloth which I soak and put on my face to then massage my face and then rinse off.

It cleanses and protects the skin and getting rid of impurities and removes dead skin cells. It leaves the skin feeling refreshed and pampered.

When applying the balm it melts onto my skin and absorbs easily, which leaves my skin feeling clean and so soft. It feels more moisturised than greasy than some cleansers can do.
It has a beautiful smell with the blend of mandarin, lime and lavender. It has a very calming effect and the avocado makes the skin feel amazing. Even after rinsing, my skin is so soft which isn't normally the case when I use cleansers.

The Suti's cleanser is such a beautiful product, not just the balm and it's an amazing smell, but even the glass jar is beautiful.

The Suti cleanser has definitely made it onto my regular evening skincare routine. What cleanser do you use?
