Review | Herbfarmacy - Replenishing face cream

Thursday, 13 October 2016

I discovered Herbfarmacy at an event last year and liked them right away. Since then, they have changed their look with new packaging. I must say they look great. They grow their own plants and herbs for their products on their organic five-acre farm in Herefordshire, UK.

I recently put an order in from LoveLula and ordered myself some products from Herbfarmacy. I bought the Pure hydration serum  and Replenishing face cream

From the first application, I can tell that it's good quality and my skin would jump of joy if it could. It's a pure pleasure to cream my face with their replenishing face cream.

It's deeply hydrating, which nourishes and replenished dry and ageing skin. I'm not surprised with ingredients like
• Marshmallow
• Damask rose
• Ginko
• Rosehip

She scent is like smelling a bouquet of gorgeously fresh roses. It relaxes your senses. The face cream softens the skin and makes it feel hydrated and fresh. I think this will be perfect to protect my skin from the cold Swedish winter.
It is also a good base for my makeup.

A 50g jar cost £23.50 which I think is so worth it. I for sure will buy this over and over again.

Some other perks are it's handmade in small batches and are only tested on friends so no animals been harm.

Review | Sukin Rose hip hydrating day cream

Monday, 28 March 2016

A perfect face cream as we're moving into spring. Spring is definitely here and as we are having warmer weather our skin won't be as dry anymore and it's time to find another face cream to follow suit. The Sukin Rosehip hydrating day cream is perfect as it's quite light and keeps your skin moisturised.

Spring can be a confusing time for our skin. It's definitely recovering from the winter dryness, but still need something to keep it moisturising. My skin is as most sensitive in the spring, with all the pollen flying around.

I jumped on the opportunity to try Sukin's Rosehip day cream. I'm already a fan of Sukin, they're an affordable organic brand and all their products are vegan. Anyone who watches my YouTube videos know I've been raving about their hair treatment.

First of all I was surprised by the size. It comes in a 120 ml jar. Which is the biggest face cream I've ever had. I would prefer it in a bottle with a pump for hygienic reasons. Because that's a lot of times I'm going to dip my finger into that jar. It's about £20 for 120ml which I think is cheap.

With gorgeous ingredients rich in vitamin C, like rose hip, pomegranate and kakadu plum, makes it deeply moisturising. It gets rid of any dryness and makes the skin look radiant and fresh. It gives the skin a perfect glow for spring.

I enjoyed this rose hip moisturiser cream from Sukin. It was a perfect transition from winter to spring. My skin feels smooth and hydrated. The scent is a gorgeous blend of the fruity ingredients. I love the smell of kakadu plum. Only a small amount is needed, so this is going to last a long time. I would buy this again.

What are some of your favourite Sukin products?

Review | Face cream vs face oils

Sunday, 27 September 2015

I've recently decided to try face oils. After a long time worrying about if it would make my skin greasy and give me spots. I'm sure I'm not the only one. In the end I just decided to go for it. I used Suti Rejuvenate face oil. This contains with Rosehip seed, Evening primrose, Argan oil and Frankincense.

Recently the hype of oils has got bigger and bigger. Such as argan, avocado, coconut and almond oils. Natural oils has been part of women's beauty regime for thousands of years.

Skin cells are held together by plenty of oils. As we age, we produce less oils and we loose our healthy glow and lines starts to appear. We need to add oils back to our skin to keep it radiant and healthy by hydrate the skin.
When oils are applied they absorb directly to the top layer of the epidermis and hydrates the skin right away.

What is the difference between cream and oils?
Creams are mostly waxes and water with a few oils. Waxes leaves a layer on the skin, which helps to hold moisture in. The problem with that a build up of waxes may lead to clogged pores and stops the oils from penetrating. So in the long run it has the opposite effect and dries your skin out. At first it helps to keep in moisture but as the pores clogs up your skin doesn't get the hydration it needs and your skin gets dry.

Oils are lipophilic which means they love fat. So they can pass through our skin and fat layer easier than creams. Hydrating the skin thus, so more efficient.

My experience
My skin is normal to dry. I started to notice a difference almost immediately. Skin felt smooth and soft.

I was worried that my skin would feel greasy. But within minutes the oil is penetrated through the skin and only left feeling smooth and hydrated. I haven't got any spots. I did feel applying the oil both morning and evening was a bit too much sometimes. I then changed to apply the face oil only in the evening before bed. Letting the oil sink in to my skin without spoiling the skin with makeup. Leaving the skin still feeling hydrated and good in the morning.

Oils are not necessarily more natural and organic than creams, it completely depends on the type of oils and the cream. Both products usually have different abilities and objectives. Oils will give us more elasticity and also some vitamins.  Whereas creams nourish the skin and minimise the pores creating a protective layer between the face the world.

What do you prefer? Oil or cream?

*disclaimer: I received the Suti face oil for free to review and been asked by Suti to write a post on face oil vs face cream. I did not get paid to do this and the view is my own.
